How Far-UVC Works for Air Cleaning

Breathing in airborne pathogens makes us sick. Far-UVC (a special type of light) can kill pathogens before this happens.

UV light cleaning has been used for decades, but far-UVC is unique because scientists consider direct human exposure safe. Unlike other UV light, such as UVB in tanning beds, that can cause skin and eye damage, UV cleaning with far-UVC does not deeply penetrate human skin.

Aerolamp's UVC cleaning can be used in occupied rooms, where it can have the biggest effect on preventing the spread of germs between sick and healthy people.

While remaining safe for exposure, far-UVC is still highly effective at killing pathogens like those that cause the common cold, the flu, and COVID. Researchers have shown a 99.5% reduction in coronaviruses within minutes. Read more about the science behind far-UVC.

A Layered Approach to Cleaner Air

Is Aerolamp the only air-cleaning tool you need? Aerolamp kills pathogens quickly, but it doesn’t reduce odors, dust, or particulate matter. Aerolamp works best when the air is well-mixed, so pair your Aerolamp with a ceiling fan, open window, or an air purifier for maximum effectiveness.
